Stone Walker

About

Stone Walker started as a folder of wallpapers. Every time a picture of a bridge, a lighthouse or a crumbling wall made me stop scrolling, I saved it. After a few years the folder was large enough to deserve a home with proper captions and proper credit.

None of these photographs are mine. Each one was taken by someone who chose to share it under a free licence on Wikimedia Commons; their name, the licence and a link to the original are on every page. I only pick the pictures, check the places and write the short notes.

The images are served large on purpose: these are things worth looking at on a big screen. If a page loads slowly, that is why.

New entries appear a few times a week, in no particular order: a Roman arch one day, a lighthouse on a North Sea dike the next.

Corrections

If a caption is wrong or a credit is missing, the original page on Wikimedia Commons is the place to check. Corrections made there will find their way here.
